How to Beautify and Brighten Your Space Before Spring

Natural changes of the season coincide with rejuvenation and shifts in energy within the home. It is quick, easy, and good for the soul to embrace spring with style renewal in your space.

Step #1: Declutter, Determine What You Love, Then Donate the Rest

As the old adage goes, "Out with the old and in with the new!" Combing through your closets and getting rid of anything that isn’t functional for you currently is a great way to refresh your rooms. De-cluttering is always time well spent.

Start transitioning your spring and summer pieces and donate anything that you haven't worn in the last six months from your current wardrobe. It can be just as rejuvenating to sift through your home decor shelves. You'll be amazed at how much lighter you'll feel letting go of all that extra stuff.

Step #2: List All Areas in Need of Attention, Then Clean Each Location

Spring cleaning really comes down to de-cluttering, brightening, and, well, cleaning. I encourage you to go through your junk drawers, linen closets, and nightstands. Open your curtains and let that sunshine come in. Start opening up and setting up your outdoor spaces. Don't forget to wipe down your window sills and let the fresh air come in too.

Step #3: Store Last Season's Decor, Then Style with Spring Inspired Pieces

The best way to incorporate spring decor is by introducing bright colors, inviting light in, and invigorating your senses. Fresh flowers, throw pillows and blankets, and fresh paint are great ways in which you can add color for the season.

Candles and shifting your existing lighting are great ways to create warm and inviting light into your home. Using essential oils, baking fresh cookies, incorporating plants, and switching out your art are wonderful ways in which you can invigorate your senses.

When it comes to preparing your home for a change of seasons, it’s always best to downsize where you can, organize, and incorporate what makes you feel refreshed. Remember, breathing life into your home is meant to uplift, not burden. Don't forget to enjoy the process!
